This Mini Detroit Pizza Recipe is so simple and will make a big splash at your next big game gathering! Using a mini loaf pan and a few simple ingredients, you’ll have a stress-free appetizer that will really impress your guests!
Ingredients Needed
This ingredient list is deliberately filled with easy to find items at any grocery or big box store. I utilized these specific ingredients to create this recipe, but you can substitute your favorites or make your own homemade sauce and cheese. Where I normally recommend shredding your own cheese, for these mini Detroit Pizzas I do suggest using pre-shredded. This convenient to use cheese also contains starches which create a crispy raised edge border around each mini pizza.
- 1 – 13.8 oz can of Pillsbury Pizza Crust
- 1 – 8 oz bag of Kraft Shredded Sharp White Cheddar Cheese
- 1 – 8 oz bag of Kraft Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- Parmesan Cheese
- 1 – 15 oz can of Cento Pizza Sauce
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Hormel Mini Pepperoni Slices (Optional)

You’ll only need the Wilton Bakeware Mini Loaf pan and a pizza cutter or knife to make this mini Detroit pizza recipe. This non-stick pan is great for more than just this recipe. You can also make cheese crisps, mini banana breads, mini cakes, and much more. It’s super non-stick and distributes heat evenly making it a versatile baking tool!

How to Make Mini Detroit Style Pizza Recipe
I’ve deliberate made the ingredients and steps as simple as possible. If you feel compelled to “chef up” this recipe a bit go right ahead! This is supposed to be quick, easy, and painless. So here’s how to do it:
- Drizzle approximately 1/4 tsp of olive oil into each of the 18 sections of the loaf pan.
- Remove Pillsbury Pizza Dough from can. Unroll the dough and lay flat. Cut into 18 – .75 oz sections (cut the dough into a 6×3 pattern of even rectangles).
- Place .75 oz of dough in each of the 18 sections of the loaf pan.
- Cover pan with plastic wrap and allow to raise for 30 minutes.
- Remove plastic wrap and sprinkle parmesan cheese, followed by cheddar cheese, followed by mozzarella cheese on top of each of the 18 doughs. Each should be fully covered with no dough visible.
- If any toppings are desired, add them at this point.
- Bake at 475f degrees on the middle shelf for 10 minutes, or until cheese is crispy around the edges and bottoms are golden brown. A good indicator that the bake is complete is that the mini Detroit pizza moves freely and releases easily from the pan.
- Spoon on 2 small stripes of pizza sauce. You can also use a squeeze bottle to apply sauce. These should be applied length-wise in a “dual racing stripe” pattern.
