Laura's Pizza and Hoagies Montdale

Laura’s Pizza and Hoagies Montdale is a small shop in a small town. It’s located on the “main drag” in Montdale that consists of just a few small businesses. I’ve long known of Laura’s thanks to consistent reader recommendations that they had among the very best buffalo chicken pizza in Northeast Pennsylvania. I also heard a ton of good things about their hoagies, burgers, wings and much more.

It is criminal how long it took me to visit Laura’s, but I was finally traveling past the small shop next to the gas station/garage and turned in to pick up my first ever hot wing pizza there! I was greeted by a friendly lady who told me a little about the place and it turned out she knew the First Lady of NEPA Pizza (small world! We had a nice quick chat and before long the pizza was piping hot out of the oven and it was time to do the review.

Reviewing Laura’s Buffalo Chicken Pizza

There is a small dining area with a few tables that you cane eat at, but I enjoy the comfort of the pizza mobile to do a review. I hopped in my car and flung open the box. I grabbed a slice as you can see in the video above and promptly scalded myself on the molten lava cheese, which I assumed to be American cheese. My immediate reaction was that this buffalo chicken pizza was like a hot wing grilled cheese sandwich on steroids – indulgent and delicious!

The pizza was made on a flawlessly baked Old Forge pizza shell. The audible crunch was insane (again, check the video)! The sauce and chicken were baked underneath the generous layer of cheese. The buffalo sauce was quite mild with just a hint of heat as well as an undertone of sweetness. I believe you can choose between ranch, bleu cheese, or neither on this pizza. I’m a bleu cheese guy when it comes to hot wing pizza, but you have your choice.

Overall, this was a super enjoyable and refreshing pizza review. The pizza was delicious, the place was very cool, and the people were super kind. I’m told by many that their entire menu is as delicious as the chicken wing pizza I just tried.
