Green Ridge News Scranton is a place I’ve driven by many times. It’s an unassuming yet charming little gas station that I never took notice of. That all changed when I put out a facebook post asking readers who makes the best gas station pizza? The responses rolled in fast and furious. An overwhelming majority of locals said that Green Ridge News was the source of the best gas station pizza in NEPA!

The pizza is a quintessential tray of Old Forge Style Pizza. I went with a half tray of red pizza which came out piping hot with the cheese liquified into molten lava. The cheese seemed to be American based on the melt, texture and taste but I didn’t confirm that. The sauce was smooth and balanced – not overly sweet and not really acidic, but some nice flavor and light seasoning. The baked the shell nicely with a dark brown bottom. It was crispy around the edges and tender in the center like most Old Forge pizzas.

To call this gas station pizza may be an accurate statement, but it’s really a restaurant that also sells gas. They have a robust menu complete with Texas Wieners which I tried too. Check out the video to see how delicious that chili dog was! It’s clearly well documented by Scranton locals that this is a great place to get pizza and food, but to the greater NEPA area, I’d call this unassuming little fueling station on Green Ridge Street a hidden gem!
