Jorgie B's Pizzeria - Forest City

Jorgie B’s Pizzeria in Forest City is the sister restaurant that has grown out of K&J’s Kitchen just a couple doors down Main Street in town. It’s a dine in pizzeria offering take-out and delivery. They also serve up breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week. I started following after seeing some of their pizzas on K&J’s social media page before they expanded to Jorgie B’s. The pizzas looked good, I have very few pizza review pins in the map in that area, and I happened to be running errands out that way which paved the way for a pizza review!

I dropped by for a large cheese pizza and was a few minutes early and chatted with the friendly team there. I always learned a little about their operation and the history of all the restaurants that were formally in the building. Most notably, I learned that Jorgie B’s space used to be combined with what is now a floral shop. I’m told the combined space used to feature a stage where folks could dine and watch theatrical performances at the same time! Very cool piece of history!

Reviewing Jorgie B’s Pizzeria

I enjoyed watching my pizza get baked in the open kitchen and noted they use a Baker’s Pride and cook the pizza on screens. When the pizza came out, it was cooked nicely with a light brown hue on the crust. The dough was soft and chewy with some light crispiness on the edge. The sauce was smooth and definitely the ingredient that stood out the most to me. It was fairly heavily seasoned in a way that gave you a nice punch and contrast to the cheese and dough. My favorite component was the cheese, which was flavorful, melted beautifully, and was of high quality.

Overall, this was a solid pizza and won’t let you down. I’ll place this in the “party pleaser” category because chances are everyone will enjoy it if you bring it to a party. After eating a slice the next day, I can also confirm that it has a good shelf life. The flavorful sauce really comes through the next day and the cheese comes back to life well too.
