Elegante Forest City is a full service Italian restaurant located at 315 Main St, Forest City, PA 18421. It’s conveniently located with dedicated parking making it easy to grab a couple quick slices of pizza. I was in town looking for a couple cuts to review on my way so this seemed like the perfect spot.
At the time of my arrival, they had some fresh-looking New York Style and Sicilian Style slice pies ready to go. I requested a slice of each and waited for them to be reheated. I was happy to see that the pizza people reheated both slices thoroughly and they were nice and hot.
Reviewing the Pizzas
Both pizzas fell in to the quintessential mall pizza category – solid pizza that won’t let you down. The Sicilian pizza featured a medium thickness crust with a tight, spongy crumb that was slightly crisp on the bottom. There was plenty of sauce on the slice which allowed it to shine. The cheese was solid and overall made for a Sicilian that got the job done.
The New York slice provided a thinner foldable and soft crust with what could have been the same sauce and cheese as the Sicilian. Proportions of dough, sauce, and cheese were completely different and provided a contrasting eating experience to the thicker and saucier Sicilian. There weren’t any prevalent flavors on the NY slice, but again it got the job done. Solid value pizza that won’t let you down.
