Happy Pizza Plymouth is well known for their pagash. Whenever the lenten season begins and I poll my readers to ask “Who has the best pagash?” Happy Pizza is always among the most popular responses. I’m also told that their round pizza and wings are quite good as well.

Happy Pizza is a neat complex. When you walk in the door, it appears that it’s sort of an old school takeout only joint. However, one look to the right and it opens up into a dining room with about 10 tables. Even further, they have a very large event space in the back with seating for larger parties. It’s a unique place with a ton of character. There is also plenty of parking available across the street!

What is Pagash?

You may be asking, what is pagash? Pagash pizza is Northeastern Pennsylvania’s adaptation of “Pagach.” It’s a unique culinary creation that combines the savory flavors of pizza with the traditional Eastern European Pagach. This fusion results in a delectable treat that features a thick, doughy crust topped with a rich layer of mashed potatoes, cheese, and a variety of flavorful ingredients.

The name “pagash” itself refers to a type of savory pastry in Eastern European cuisine, and when applied to pizza, it introduces a delightful twist to the conventional pizza experience. The combination of the crispy crust, creamy mashed potatoes, and gooey cheese creates a satisfying and comforting taste that captivates the palate.
