John’s Italian Restaurant - Greentown

I stopped by John’s Italian Restaurant Greentown while passing through to try their New York Style Pizza. The place is easy to get to off I-84 and has a ton of parking. It’s a sprawling establishment with multiple dining rooms, bar and lounge. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. They also offer a number of games for kids and adults alike.

I placed an order for a medium pizza with half pepperoni baked well done. A friend who knows the place well said to get it well done. The pizza was ready in under 10 minutes. When the pizza guy handed me the box, it felt heavy in my hands so I knew they weren’t skimping on the toppings. Sure enough, i flipped open the lid to find a very, very generous amount of cheese neatly melted on top.

A Cheese Lover’s Dream

This pizza was definitely a cheese lover’s dream. The gooey and melty blend had some sharpness to it and created a nice cheese pull when I lifted a slice. The pizza was baked pretty nicely, but I wouldn’t call it well done as there was a bit of a “gum line” in the dough. Regardless, it was still a decent crust that was browned up magnificently on the bottom. With the thickness of the dough and large amount of cheese, the sauce wasn’t the prevalent flavor, but it had nice texture to it.

Overall, I know many people will like this pizza. I call this a “party pleaser” because it is something you can take to a party and everyone will enjoy it. Don’t hesitate to stop by John’s Italian Restaurant. Many have told me the Italian dinners are very good, and the pizza is certainly worth a try.
