Two Kings Pizza Shickshinny

Two Kings Pizza Shickshinny on West Union Street is a charming pizzeria and restaurant in the heart of town. Recently, I stopped by to review their New York style pizza after many locals advised I should give it a try. It’s a neat looking building on the outside and quite cozy and clean inside.

After trying my pizza, I had a chance to meat the owner who I found has a lot of experience in the pizza industry and was a really great guy. I had a chance to get a quick tour of the kitchen, saw the fresh dough being cut and rolled, the sauce simmering on the stove, and the high quality cheeses that he uses. I’m not at liberty to share those details, but let’s just say I saw some of my favorite ingredients in the back of the house!

Lightly Baked Pizzas vs Well Done

Before I tell you about the pizza, I want to note that I ordered this pizza extra crispy. So, if you want to get a pizza that looks like the one in my photos, you’ll want to request it that way. Why did I modify the order? Many of the pizzas in this region tend to bake the pizzas lighter than I desire. That’s not a criticism, it’s just generally the way the market demands it be cooked. I prefer my pizzas to be cooked a bit darker and crispier. Everyone likes their pizza different! So just note that the standard bake is lighter than what is depicted here.
