Lorenzo and Son’s Pizza at Xfinity Live is a Great Way to Fill Your Belly Before, During, or After a Game!
Lorenzo and Son’s Pizza is known for serving the biggest slice in Philly. Their gigantic slices provide the wrap around a cheesesteak known as the “Philly Taco.” The massive pieces of pizza are a favorite slice of many for late nights after hours, but can also be a great pregame treat served at Xfinity in the sports complex in South Philadelphia.
I’ve had Lorenzo and Son’s a number of times over the years, and it’s always been decent, novel, and generous in size. I have to say, when I spotted a fresh pie coming out of the oven and being cut up by the pizza girl at the counter, I rushed over to see if getting a fresh slice would make a difference. I paid and eagerly rushed back to my standing table to try it.
Reviewing the Giant Pizza
I found that the slice was steaming hot and crispy on the bottom while still being foldable. The cheese was nicely melted and had nice color. The sauce was neutral and certainly not offensive in any way. I quite enjoyed this slice and it really hit the spot before heading into the Phillies game where the prices were sure to be higher and the portion sizes smaller!
The bottom line is Lorenzo and Son’s is providing a high QUANTITY slice, but still does retain some quality in their pizza. This would be a solid slice if it was a more normal sized pizza and less of a novelty XXXL size. Overall, I was very happy with the quality/value proposition that Lorenzo’s had to offer!
