Classic Slices and Courteous Service at Ruano’s in the Marketplace at Steamtown

Ruano’s Pizza and Pasta is a great little pizzeria in the food court area in the Marketplace at Steamtown. They always have a solid variety of slice pies, pastas, and salads ready to serve hungry mall patrons on the go. They also happen to have some of the most kind, courteous, and attentive service I’ve encountered in my extensive pizza travels. I was very impressed with how they greeted and treated each customer as they made their selections. There was a high level of customer service and a lot of care in each encounter.

The pizza falls in the “party pleaser” category for me which indicates it’s a slice that generally everyone would like if you brought it to a party. It’s built upon a classic thin NY style crust with a nice crisp on the bottom and a foldable crust that makes it easy to eat and enjoy on the run. The sauce is smooth, very tasty and heavier on the garlic than many NY pies, and the cheese is a quality mozzarella neatly melted on top. I ordered one plain and one with mushrooms. The one with mushrooms scored ever so slightly higher as it was cooked just a bit more thoroughly, giving it a better crisp and flavor.
