Bernie’s Pizza Has Been Serving Up Their Thin and Crispy Pizzas Since the 1950’s!
Bernie’s Pizza Dallas is a small, family-owned pizzeria that has been in business forever and has some of the best pizza and prices in Dallas. Locals swear by it and recommend it often. The restaurant is small, and offers takeout only. The owners are wonderful people judging by my single personal interaction and hundreds of messages from the NEPA nation in support of these great pizzaiola.

The pizza is very distinctive in several ways. First it is built atop a razor thin – and I mean THIN crust. It’s tender, light, crispy around the edge and a little floppy in the middle. The signature sauce is sweet, savory, and slightly acidic and is on full display as they leave a bit of a gap between where the cheese stops and the crust starts. This allows for you to take a few bites with the cheese, then get a bite of the really intense and sweet sauce flavor, then onto the edge crust to finish.
It’s really a neat experience, and at only $8 for a large pie, you can load up the truck for any birthday party or gathering and not break the bank! Bernie’s also has a number of gourmet pizzas and a ton of healthier pizza options like: cauliflower crust, fathead, and vegan. They also have a personal pan fried round deep dish pizza that sounds incredible!

Overall, as many of you told me Bernie’s is an absolute must try. The history, the character, the value, the distinct pizza, and the wonderful owners all make for a long list of reasons that this place needs to be on your NEPA Pizza wish list.
