Franco’s Doing Pizza Different and Turning Wilkes-Barre into Flavortown!

Franco’s in Wilkes-Barre has become a social media sensation over the past year following their victory at NePizza Festival at Montage Mountain in 2019. They took home the title for Best Crazy Pizza, and for good reason. It was at that festival that I, and the the broader public was introduced to just a couple of the insane pizza creations that they were cooking up. I recall vividly biting into a mac n cheese pizza with a hot wing stuffed crust. It was mayhem – 2 pizzas in one!

Fast forward several months and a pandemic later and I finally got down to Franco’s to try a little more of their insane-ly delicious pizzas. If you follow them on social media, they have a huge following – approaching 20,000 likes on facebook and for good reason. Their pizza posts continually go viral because they are unlike anything the area has ever seen. The two most popular crazy pizzas seem to be the garlic knot crust pizza and the stuffed crust pizza and I had the opportunity to try both.
