There’s a New Pizzeria in Town (Pittston)
Giuseppe’s Pizzeria is a new pizza spot on Main Street in Pittston and they’ve been creating some buzz on social media through their account and in the local facebook discussion groups such as Food of NEPA. People have a lot of positive things to say about Giuseppe’s and their pizza and food looks pretty delicious online, but I needed to give it a try in person. I usually like to give a place a couple of months to get set up before I visit for a review so they can get their menu and processes in place and that was the case with this review. I had a wingman on this pizza venture, so it was good to be able to get some additional insight on the pizza.
The restaurant is located on Main Avenue along the river. As we pulled into the parking lot and got out of the pizza mobile, I looked out and observed the river was very close by and we were essentially standing on the bank of the mighty Susquehanna! I later learned that a patio is planned so that people can dine and take in the beautiful views of the river. We entered through the dining room entrance by the parking lot and noted there was a full-size, full service dining room with plenty of booths and tables. There was also another entrance with display counter for gourmet pizzas for those looking to grab and go. I must say, the place has a ton of space and potential!
We placed our order of a medium pizza for $9.95, which was a very fair price for a 14″ pizza. The pie was ready pretty quickly and it wasn’t long before we got our first look at it. The thing that caught my eye first was the bright red and vibrant sauce. Since there was about an inch of space between the crust and cheese, the color really popped and there was some visible steam rising up from our table. The sauce was definitely my favorite component as it reminded me of the vibrant red stuff that I grew up on at Original Italian Pizza. If you’ve ever had their pizza, you know that it’s a smooth, sweet, succulent, and fresh tasting sauce that is easy to recognize. The cheese on this pizza was a creamier mozzarella which was stringy, melty, and delicious. The cheese had some slight browning on top which led to some pleasant flavor variation. The crust was your classic New York style crust. This crust was a bit flat and brittle for my taste, but I would surmise this was likely just the piece of dough that we had which isn’t all that unusual in the fresh dough realm. I will say that it was browned up nicely and was crispy on the bottom and around the edge.
Overall, this pizza had wonderful balance, excellent flavors and I very much enjoyed the sauce and cheese combination. This pizza will certainly have mass appeal from children with simple tastes all the way up to pizza aficionados who demand complexity. It’s reasonably priced and a good bet to try for lunch, dinner, or even for takeout at parties. I did not try their deserts, Italian specialties, or gourmet pizzas but the photos I have seen look absolutely incredible and delicious. The early feedback I have seen online has also been enormously positive and I think that Giuseppe’s Pizzeria is certainly worth a try if you’re in the Pittston area! Have you tried Giuseppe’s yet? Please comment with pictures and your thoughts on the restaurant. I’d love to hear about it!

Reading this blog posts was extremely difficult especially since I'm hungry!
I also wanted to ask, what program do you use to edit and prepare your photographs for your blog use?
I'm writing from Zoner Photo Studio X a photo editor you've probably never heard of and that's okay. We're an alternative to the giant, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and we'd be thrilled if you would give us a test spin for free on your own photos and let your readers know. We believe everyone should have access to a powerful piece of software.
Would this be of interest to you?
Have a good one!
