Tonino’s Pizza has built a name across Central Pennsylvania, with locations in Harrisburg, Enola, Camp Hill, and now Lewisburg. I stopped into their Lewisburg location on North 10th Street, tucked inside the new Giant plaza, to see how their pizza holds up in this part of the valley.
When I arrived, it was late in the evening—just shy of closing time—so the slice selection was understandably limited. Still, the large, well-lit display case gave me a glimpse of what they’re offering during peak hours. There was a fresh cheese pizza just pulled from the oven and a buffalo chicken slice that caught my eye. I grabbed one of each.
Cheese Slice Breakdown
The New York-style cheese slice was baked on the lighter side. The bottom had a decent crisp with some nice dark brown spotting, though it also featured a fairly significant gumline indicating the dough wasn’t fully baked through. The sauce leaned smooth and mild—moderately seasoned, not overly tomato-forward. The cheese was your reliable, standard mozzarella, melted evenly and brought the slice together well. It wasn’t flashy, but it was familiar and dependable.
Buffalo Chicken Slice
The buffalo slice featured generously sized chunks of grilled chicken and a heavy blanket of mozzarella. There was just a whisper of buffalo sauce—not enough to bring the heat, but enough to remind you what style you were eating. Personally, I’m partial to a saucier buffalo slice with a little kick, but this one still got the job done, especially for a quick grab-and-go bite.

Overall Experience
The space itself is clean, modern, and inviting, with friendly staff and a few tables if you want to eat in. Service was fast, and the vibe felt like what you’d expect in a newer, polished mall-style pizzeria. If you’re a Bucknell student, local, or just grabbing groceries next door, it’s a convenient spot for a quick bite.
To be fair, visiting right before close likely didn’t give me the full experience. I’d like to return during a lunch or dinner rush to check out some of their gourmet pies and see what a full, fresh selection looks like. Still, based on this visit, Tonino’s Lewisburg delivers that familiar, comfort-style pizza most people can agree on—easy eating, casual, and satisfying in the moment.
If you’re searching for the best pizza near Bucknell University or just cruising through Lewisburg, Tonino’s is a worthy stop to keep on your radar.
