At NEPA Pizza Review, we’ve always been about more than just making and showcasing great pizza. We’re also about building community and helping those in need. This holiday season, Layla —better known here as the Pizza Princess—is once again leading the charge to make a difference in our local community.
Layla, daughter of NEPA Pizza Review’s founder Jim Mirabelli, has a heart as big as her love for pizza. For years, she’s been passionately involved in the annual canned food drive at Abington Heights High School, and this year is no different. From her days in elementary school to now in high school, Layla has always strived to collect the most cans and make the biggest impact. Her dedication to feeding hungry families in our area has become her signature project, and she’s not slowing down any time soon.
Aiming Higher: 3,000 Cans to Feed Families in Need
This year, Layla has set an ambitious goal: to personally collect 3,000 cans as part of Abington Heights High School’s overall goal of 12,000 cans. That means she and the NEPA Nation are looking to contribute at least 25% toward the school’s goal.
With your help, we’ve already achieved some incredible milestones. Last year, thanks to your generosity, Layla collected over 2,500 cans. The year before, we hit 2,000 cans. But this year, we’re aiming even higher—and we know we can do it with your support.
How You Can Help
Getting involved is easy and impactful. Here’s how it works:
- Donate via Venmo: Send your donation to the Venmo account listed below.
- Smart Shopping: Layla and Jim will personally hit the road, visiting grocery stores across NEPA to find the best deals on critical food items.
- Direct Delivery: Every item purchased will be delivered directly to the food pantry at The Gathering Place in Clarks Summit, PA.
Deadline for Donations is November 21st, 2024!
Rest assured, every single penny of your donation will go toward purchasing food. There are no administrative fees, no gas money deductions, and no labor costs. It’s 100% about feeding local families.
Every Can Counts
Whether you can donate $1 or $100, every little bit helps. No donation is too small, and every contribution will help us get closer to our goal of 3,000 cans. This is a community effort, and together, we can make a real difference for families in need this Thanksgiving season.
Prizes for Donating!
To show our appreciation for your generosity, NEPA Pizza Review is excited to offer a special prize to one lucky donor through a random lottery! For every $10 donated (or every 10 cans contributed), you’ll earn one entry into the drawing. The grand prize? A Pizza Party catered by none other than Jim Mirabelli of NEPA Pizza Review! Jim will craft four custom pizzas of your choice, available for pickup in Clarks Summit (no delivery), perfect for your next celebration. The winner and Jim will coordinate a mutually convenient date for this delicious event. Don’t miss your chance to win while supporting a great cause!
Stay tuned, because the more donations we receive, the more prizes NEPA Pizza Review will donate!
