La Rocca Pizza Brings Classic Pizza and Much More to North Scranton

Getting ready to have a couple slices of pizza at La Rocca Pizza and Pasta House in Scranton!

La Rocca Pizza and Pasta in Scranton opened in August 2021. They feature a wide variety of specialty pizzas, salads, soups, subs, entrees and more. Currently, it is a takeout and delivery only restaurant, but there does appear to be room in the front of the building for a dining area at some point. I was in the area so I stopped by to give the pizza a try.

The staff was super friendly one both of my visits (the slice pies weren’t ready yet on my first stope, so I came back a bit later to grab some fresh cuts. I went with a classic New York Style Slice and a hot wing slice. The first thing that struckme about the NY slice was how heavy it was for a thin crust pie. The crust was dense, but tender and they applied the sauce and cheese quite liberally so for those that like a loaded slice, you’ll get your money’s worth in terms and be pretty full when you’re done!

A Pleasant Experience and a Party Pleaser

Both slices were pretty good, and are what I would consider to be a “Party Pleaser” which means if you took it to a party, everyone from young kids to pizza snobs would eat and enjoy it. Overall, both slices were classic, quintessential, NY slices. The pizzas were very similar to many other classic, quintessential pies that I’ve had all over the area and other parts of the country. You won’t go wrong with La Rocca and it’s definitely worth a try.
