Brick House Pizza – Family, Flavor, and Pan Fried Perfection in Nanticoke

If you’re looking for great Nanticoke pizza, Brick House Pizza is one of those hidden gems that deserves more recognition. This truly family-owned pizzeria is run by mom, dad, and daughter, and you feel that warmth the second you walk in. They shared their story about opening just before COVID hit—a tough start—but the community rallied behind them. And after trying their food, I can tell you it’s easy to see why: great people serving great pizza.

On this visit, I ordered three pies that really showcased their range: a Pan Fried Sicilian with onions, a Pan Fried Sicilian Hot Wing pizza, and their Round pizza with savory sauce. Each one brought something different to the table, and together they showed why Brick House is earning loyal fans in Luzerne County.

Pan Fried Sicilian with Onions

When you’re in Nanticoke and craving Pan Fried Sicilian pizza, Brick House delivers a version that’s both familiar and unique. The tray is a bit smaller than the standard Old Forge or 11×17 pans, but the price is lower too, which means you can try multiple pizzas in one stop (which I definitely recommend).

The crust was medium thickness with a perfectly fried bottom—uniformly crisp without being greasy. In fact, I ran my finger across the bottom and came up clean, which is rare for this style. The texture had a tender flakiness, almost pastry-like, that set it apart from other Sicilians in the region.

The sauce was also different. Instead of the traditional chunky crushed tomato, Brick House uses a smoother, savory sauce with a bold punch of flavor. Combined with diced onions and a rich layer of cheese, this tray had a flavor profile that was both hearty and distinctive.

Pan Fried Sicilian Hot Wing Pizza

The standout of the day—and honestly one of the best buffalo chicken pizzas I’ve ever had—was their Hot Wing Pan Fried Sicilian. Same crisp, clean crust as the regular tray, but topped with small breaded chicken bites and a wing sauce that hit all the right notes.

The sauce blended sweet honey tones, a mild buffalo tang, and even a little tomato depth. It clung perfectly to the chicken thanks to the light breading, giving you saucy, flavorful bites every time. This pizza was messy in the best possible way—I went through a stack of napkins with sauce on my face, and I didn’t care one bit.

If you’re a buffalo chicken pizza fan, this is a must-order. Easily one of the most memorable pies I’ve had in NEPA.

Round Pizza with Savory Sauce

Brick House doesn’t just stop at pan-fried trays. Their round pizza brings another layer of versatility to the menu. The crust is razor-thin but still manages to stay sturdy and crisp with no flop. I watched as they ran the dough through a sheeter to get that perfect uniform thinness, then piled on the cheese (looked like cheddar or a blend) before swirling on the sauce.

Here’s a fun fact: the swirl pattern actually tells the staff which sauce is which. A random squiggle pattern means savory sauce, while a neat whirlpool design means sweet sauce. It’s a clever system, and it adds some personality to the pies. By the way, many people suggest ordering the sweet sauce!

The savory sauce version I tried was fantastic—crispy bottom, gooey cheese, and a flavorful sauce drizzle that tied everything together. Even better, Brick House often runs a $10 special for a 14-inch round pizza, making it one of the best pizza deals in Nanticoke.
