Jerry’s Pizza - Plains - NEPA Pizza Review

Jerry’s Pizza Plains, not to be confused with Gerry’s Pizza in Wilkes-Barre is a cool bar and restaurant with a tight knit neighborhood vibe. The friendly atmosphere is evident from the moment you walk in. Perhaps not coincidentally, I’ve had similar friendly vibes immediately when walking into nearby Plains Pub and Peppe’s Pizza! Could it be that Plains people are just THAT friendly?!

I have heard from several people that I needed to check out the sweet sauce pizza at Jerry’s. I called in an order and made the trip down! Upon entry, I found that the place and it had an awesome bar vibe complete with pool table, dart board, dining area, and more. Definitely a place I’d frequent if I lived nearby!

Reviewing Jerry’s Sweet and Saucy Pizza

From the top, the pizza looked very good. It featured a deep red sauce swirl on top of some nicely melted cheese. The sauce was very sweet and had some bold flavors that worked really well with the salty cheese. The crust was a bit doughy and chewy and a little scorched in the center. However, I did enjoy the outer crust as it featured some crispness and nice flavor.

Overall I thought this was a solid pizza – one that many will enjoy. The headliner is really their sauce. I’m absolutely certain that locals will love that boldly sweet sauce and cheese combo. It really is super flavorful, enjoyable, and fun to eat. I’ll definitely return for another and grab a pizza and spend some time inside what I believe to be a fun and inviting environment!
